The 1857 is a pet friendly hotel and we welcome a maximum of two pets (up to 50 lbs. each) per room. Our pet service is $50 per pet, per day. Both dogs and cats are accepted, but pets may not be left unattended in rooms. There are multiple grassy areas within easy walking distance of the hotel for pet relief.
Parking is safe and convenient at The 1857 with multiple parking lots being located at the rear entry of the hotel. The use of these lots is free of charge and is only restricted on dates in which the neighboring Carson Center hosts a performance. “On street” parking is available at the hotel’s front entrance and is located directly on Kentucky Avenue.
We require 24 hours’ notice of a guest’s need to cancel their reservation. If a cancellation occurs after 3 PM on the day prior to arrival date, a cancellation fee equivalent to one night’s stay is collected. Our reservation’s team is unable to cancel / modify a reservation that was not booked directly with the hotel. Our guests are asked to contact their booking source (Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Booking.com) to cancel / modify a reservation that was booked via one of those platforms.
The 1857 is a non-smoking hotel and smoking is not permitted in our guest rooms, event center or public spaces. A $250 cleaning fee is imposed if smoking is determined to have occurred in a guest room or condominium.
The second floor of the main hotel and our 3 condominiums are accessed by stairs. If a guest has any mobility issues that may limit their ability to access those units, we request that the guest simply advise us when making a reservation and we will do our best to assist with ground level accommodations.
Each of our units is equipped with a Keurig coffeemaker and we offer additional coffee service in the lobby of the main hotel. A convenient vending area is available to all guests in the concession area of our Annex location.
The hotel frequently hosts private events in our lobby bar / event center. Regrettably, the venue is closed to the public when a private event is occurring. Our front desk team is, however, always happy to assist hotel guests with ice or a beverage from the bar during event nights. Additionally, we always do our best to notify incoming guests that an event will be occurring as we hope to never inconvenience a guest due to the celebration atmosphere. Please inquire with us when making a reservation about our event center calendar. Our “Annex” rooms and condominiums are not located within the main hotel & may be an excellent lodging alternative on event nights.
The 1857 is located in the heart of downtown Paducah’s beautiful historic district and is approximately 2 blocks from the incredible Riverfront and within easy walking distance of no less than 25 local restaurants, bars and cafes. Guests of the hotel are also within immediate proximity to several entertainment venues including the Carson Center, Market House Theater, Maiden Alley Cinema the National Quilt Museum.
